Readers show off their tattoos – sensational slide show

Thank you! readers who sent in photos of your tattoos. They are as beautiful as you are – and make for a nifty slide show, as evidenced below.

Contributors include:

* Self-proclaimed text message junkie Jennatoolz – her two tattoos include one of her former goldfish, Buzzkill, started by a boyfriend and then fixed by Andre from State of Art Tattoo; a playing card tattoo down her left side, designed by best friend Ross and installed by Adrian Rodriguez at Unlimited Ink. When I showed Ross the finished product, his exact words were, “Oh Jenna, that is, like, the biggest form of flattery I’ve ever received!”

* Pet lover and hilarious story teller AZMouse (aka Dianne), who sent in pix of her daughter Sara‘s tats. AZMouse says Sarah has about 10 tattoos all told, and her musical notes were actually a cover up for something else. Good cover!

* A man named Travis Reed who works at a local insulation company, sent in by loyal reader RadMax. Travis’s only comments were: “James, Adrenaline Tattoo.”

* Joey Flowers, another man who works with RadMax with a few tats that include his daughters and Marilyn Monroe.

* E.E. Farley sent by loyal reader A. Farley – who is being left dad’s tattoo in the will, by the way. E.E. Farley’s tat is from WWII and depicts “a petite woman with a nice hat” in front of a ship’s anchor and the initials U.S.N. for U.S. Navy. Dad was one that set up the older ships in the Bikini Atoll Atom Bomb tests. If I ever get one it would have to be exactly like Dad’s. Kind of like a Sailor Jerry Tattoo.

* A photo of the tattoo on Editor Mark Evans. Yes, this man who seems like he’d be one of the last people in the solar system to have a tattoo actually has one. He got the fish on his ankle after peer pressure and beer pressure with four other guys that got the same ones during his college days.

* Two Rynski tattoo pix – One is a dragon on my foot in the shape of a number five and installed by my fave tattoo artist, Michelangelo in Brooklyn. The other is a snap of my left leg, installed by a guy named Chris in Clovis, N.M. I designed the dragon on my foot and four out of the five dragons on my leg. I don’t know why I love dragons so much when I was born in the year of the dog.

    Happy Friday!
All the tattoos look so great! I didn’t even think to send my own in! lol

(sorry Ryn. I could not bring myself to go through pictures of the late hubby yet. He had some really cool tattoos. One of these days when I do, I will still send them to you so you can check them out.)

Your dragons are magnificent, and Jennatoolz fish is cute.
I also love the Marilyn Monroe. It looks just like her!

    • Rynski says:

happy friday, to you – and a def. TGIF what a loooong, trecherous week!
i, too, am impressed by the array of tats folks sent in. too bad we missed your own! i fully understand not going through the photos. whenever is good, as i’d love to see them but no rush.
Jennatoolz fish is the cutest! i also like your daughter sarah’s stars. very crisp. star points are difficult but there is a trick to getting them very pointy.
thanks for dragons compliment. they make me smile (and are a bit more stately, i think, then year of the dog tattoos would be – hahah)

  2. radmax says:

Mornin’. Nice legski’s Rynski! Cool dragons. This story almost makes me want a tattoo. Sounds painful and bloody though. Is it ?

    • azmouse says:

      Hi Maxxie!
Voluntary pain doesn’t hurt nearly as much as unwanted pain, and there’s hardly any blood, unless you drink allot, then I think you bleed more. Thins the blood.

We should all go get tattoos together! That would be fun…or maybe I’ll pierce something else instead.  🙂

    • Rynski says:

mornin’ radmax – thanks on legski dragon compliment.
you should DEFINITELY get a tattoo – i highly recommend it! with the right artist, it’s not bloody and painful. anyone who presses too hard with the needle, however, will make your skin into ground beef (hahaha) – kidding!
always some pain involved – but nothing a macho dude like yourself couldn’t handle.

  3. Victoria says:

Nie pics. i go and get my first tattoo today. alittle nervous , indeedy!

    • Rynski says:

yaaaaay!!!!! good for you! glad to hear it. sure you’ll do fine. it’s amazing how little they hurt when you really want one. i thought the one on my foot would kill because of all the little bones there, but i had waited so long to get it and was wanting it so bad that it only “tickled” a bit.

  4. Victoria says:

Good to hear! im getting mine behind my ear. alittle pain never hurt anyone…. i hope LOL

  5. Jennatoolz says:

Wow great tattoo’s from everyone! A nice surpise to come on the site and see a thumbnail of one of my tattoo’s on the homepage! And thanks all for the compliments on my fishy! I’m going to get it colored in one of these days… 😀

Radmax…tattoo’s aren’t as painful as one might think. HOWEVER, the one I have down my side (card suits) was pretty painful, but only because of the location. Just like with a business…getting a tattoo is all about location, location, location! 😛

All this tattoo talk makes me want another REALLY bad! My boyfriend is getting one done on his leg this Sunday…and I’m jealous, lol!

    • azmouse says:

      Your tats look great!

      • Jennatoolz says:

        Thanks very much! 😀
If only you knew what my fish tattoo looked like when my boyfriend-at-the-time started it, lol. It looked just awful; the lines were not consistant and sometimes didn’t even connect. It was extremely painful when he was doing it because I think he was pressing too hard (he was new-ish to tattooing). After we broke up is when I took myself to Andre and had it fixed and shaded. I think Andre did a marvelous job, and it was not at all painful when he did it. 😛

I like your daughters tattoo on her arm (the cherry blossoms), very pretty! I’ve considered getting cherry blossoms on my shoulders and across my back…but I’m still debating that, lol.

      • azmouse says:

Well, I’ll tell her you said so. I’m glad you could tell what it was!
She has a really cool Celtic horse on her right side, and a Celtic knotted beast on her neck, but I can’t find any pictures of them, and she lives out of town.

    • Rynski says:

Jennatoolz! you have been officially voted the BEST GOLDFISH TATTOO in all of tucson. he kinda looks spiffy without color – i left some of mine b/w even though i initially thought they’d get colored in.
tell boyfriend to have fun…and let us know when you get tat number three!
oh, i will admit the one of my lower back was my most painful. it was right on the lower spine and i had to actually SING to stop feeling the pain. bet the side is equally as sensitive.

      • Jennatoolz says:

YAY Do I win a prize?! A unique Rynski illustration that I can get tattoo’d perhaps? 😉

      • azmouse says:

My Ryn-won artwork hangs happily in my kitchen, where I can see her everyday, and so can everybody else.
Ahhh, we all want free Ryn stuff.

Speaking of which, if I wanted some genuine Rynchimes, how far in advance would I need to put in an order if I wanted them for a Birthday or Christmas, Ryn??

      • Rynski says:

I’d say give me a week advance notice on the RYNchimes – so glad fiona is happy in your kitchen! hope you give her plenty of treats (haha).

      • radmax says:

Rynchimes rule az! My daughter and I love mine.

      • azmouse says:

Radmax has Rynchimes and I don’t!??!!!??!!
I’m so devistated and feeling oddly left out right now by this news……
Dang it, I wanted to be the first on the southeast side to have Rynchimes.

      • Rynski says:

you bet, jennatoolz! tell me what you want illustrated and i’ll hook it up for ya!

      • Jennatoolz says: I’ve got some thinking to do! Lol…Thanks mucho, Rynski! I’m way excited now! 😀

      • Rynski says:

my pleasure, jennatoolz. just let me know when you come up with it!

      • radmax says:

Don’t fret az. 🙂 The cool thing about Rynski’s pieces is that no two are the same! So you can still have the 1st-Your personal Rynoriginal.

      • azmouse says:

Okay, I feel better now. I’ll have to plan ahead, because I want some for myself, and they’d make really cool Christmas gifts!

      • Andrew Ulanowski says:

Funny, Jenna, though I have no tattoos, I think I would like to have Ryn’s art on my body . . . I’ll have to think about it . . .

  6. Andrew Ulanowski says:

Lovely tattoos, one and all! Definitely a nice pile’o legs you’ve presented there Ryn . . .
I’m the only person in my immediate family that doesn’t have a tattoo. Perhaps someday if I see something that inspires me . . .

    • Rynski says:

i like everyone’s tats – too. thanks for compliment. hey! does being the only one in your family w/out a tattoo make you like a black sheep? do they shun you for being tattoo-less? haha

      • Andrew Ulanowski says:

No one shuns me for my lack of tatts though it was a surprise to find out my mom has them (tattooed eyebrows). I never noticed . . .
I really like women who have nice tattoos and piercings (I think it’s hawt!), so goth-y women have always been appealing to me. Funny, I’ve never dated one though.

  7. leftfield says:

    Pretty weak, Mr. Evans.

  8. azmouse says:

Boy Ryn, your gams are a hit! You should’ve left the picture a tiny thumbnail, and if anyone tries to click on it, it goes straight to a paypal account, so you can charge money to see those babies! LOL!!
